Thai Asia A320 enroute and had a battery thermal runaway A Thai AirAsia Airbus A320-200, registration HS-ABX performing flight FD-3188 from Bangkok Don Muang to Nakhon Si Thammarat (Thailand), was enroute when smoke emanated from an overhead locker.  A passenger's power bank suffered a thermal runaway. Cabin crew used a fire extinguisher and secured the power bank in a container. The aircraft continued to destination for a safe landing. Lufthansa B748 nearly collided with a South African Airways Airbus A320 on the runway in Johannesburg According to media reports (including some aviation reports) a Lufthansa B748 nearly collided with a South African Airways Airbus A320 on the runway in Johannesburg.  The (known as highly inaccurate) replay-display by a certain radar website shows, that the B748 while accelerating for takeoff from Johannesburg's runway 03L had a South African Airways A320 cross the runway at the same time in short distance across the first taxiway ahead of the B748, the A320 made it across the runway before the B748 came to that point, the B748 continued takeoff.  So this is the "story" of a "near collision on the runway" according to such media. LATAM Chile B789 at Sao Paulo faced technical problem A LATAM Chile Boeing 787-9, registration CC-BGE performing flight LA-8058 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Johannesburg (South Africa), was climbing out of Guarulhos' runway 27R when the crew stopped the climb at FL090, declared emergency and decided to return to Guarulhos where the aircraft landed safely on runway 28L about 16 minutes after departure.  After landing the crew queries emergency services whether any smoke was visible from the aircraft and taxied to the apron with emergency services in trail. The airline reported the aircraft returned to Guarulhos due to a technical problem. A replacement LATAM Brasil Boeing 787-9 registration PS-LAA reached Johannesburg with a delay of about 5.5 hours. Jet2 A321-200N near Faro got burning odour on board A Jet2.com Airbus A321-200N, registration G-SUNB performing flight LS-1266 from Tenerife South,CI (Spain) to Birmingham,EN (UK) with 220 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 160nm southwest of Faro (Portugal) when the crew decided to divert to Faro due to a burning odour on board.  The aircraft landed safely on Faro's runway 28 about 35 minutes later. Swiss Airlines had problems with its air conditioning in-flight

Swiss B773 near Mallorca had problems with air conditioning A Swiss International Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration HB-JNB performing flight LX-7092 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) with 145 people on board, was enroute at FL330 about 50nm northeast of Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) when the crew decided to return to Zurich due to problems with the air conditioning. The aircraft descended to FL320 for the return and landed safely on Zurich's runway 14 about 2.5 hours after departure. The aircraft is still on the ground in Zurich about 7.5 hours after landing back. The flight, LX-92, expected with 318 passengers on board had been postponed the previous day due to the aircraft not coming out of an A-Check in time and was to be flown as flight LX-7092 on Feb 22nd. Kalitta B747-400 sandwiched between fire warning and multiple system malfunction while in flight over the Atlantic

Kalitta B744 over Atlantic faces fire indication followed by multiple system malfunctions A Kalitta Boeing 747-400 freighter, registration N767CK performing flight KA-844 from Miami,FL (USA) to Amsterdam (Netherlands) with 5 crew and cargo of flowers, was enroute at FL370 over the Atlantic Ocean about 600nm west of Shannon when the crew donned their oxygen masks, declared emergency and descended the aircraft to FL260 after receiving a fire indication on board.  The crew decided to divert to Shannon (Ireland). Enroute towards Shannon the crew reported they now had multiple system malfunctions.  The crew requested high speed below FL100, deviated around weather, performed an ILS approach to, landed on Shannon's runway 24 and stopped on the runway.  Following a first inspection by emergency services the aircraft proceeded to the apron with emergency services in trail.  The crew advised that the fire indications had ceased during the landing roll, there was no trace of fire, smoke or h
