United B764 at Newark faced some hydraulic problem A United Boeing 767-400, registration N78060 performing flight UA-963 from Berlin (Germany) to Newark,NJ (USA), was on approach to Newark when the crew reported a hydraulic problem.  The aircraft went around, positioned for another approach and landed safely on runway 04L. The FAA reported: "United Airlines Flight 963 landed safely at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey around 12:50 p.m. local time on Tuesday, March 26, after the crew reported a possible hydraulic issue.  The Boeing 767 was traveling from Berlin, Germany. United's B757-200 slat got damaged in-flight

United B752 near Denver had its slat damaged in-flight A United Boeing 757-200, registration N57111 performing flight UA-354 from San Francisco,CA to Boston,MA (USA) with 165 people on board, was enroute at FL310 about 100nm northwest of Denver,CO (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Denver after passengers observed slat damage to the right hand wing.  The aircraft landed safely on Denver's runway 16R about 25 minutes later. A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N34137 reached Boston with a delay of about 3.5 hours. The FAA reported the aircraft diverted to Denver after the crew reported a possible flap issue. Lightning says hi to United B737-700 at Chicago

United B737 at Chicago faces lightning strike A United Boeing 737-700, registration N15751 performing flight UA-555 from Jacksonville,FL to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was on approach to Chicago's runway 28C when the aircraft sustained a lightning strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on the runway. The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING WHILE LANDING AND POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED A SMALL HOLE ON RIGHT SIDE OF FUSELAGE, CHICAGO, IL." Engine decides to cool off in-flight

United B738 near Atlanta experience engine shut down mid flight A United Boeing 737-800, registration N76528 performing flight UA-575 from Charlotte,NC to Houston Intercontinental,TX (USA) with 138 people on board, was enroute at FL300 about 50nm east of Atlanta,GA (USA) when the crew reported they had lost their left hand engine (CFM56).  The aircraft diverted to Atlanta for a safe landing on runway 27R about 30 minutes after leaving FL300. After landing the crew requested emergency services to look after the left hand engine. The FAA reported: "United Airlines Flight 575 landed safely at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 8 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Jan. 31 after the crew reported a possible engine issue." and opened an investigation. According to information The Aviation Herald received the loss of engine oil prompted the shut down of the left hand engine in flight.
