Lufthansa A343 at Boston bird strike




A Lufthansa Airbus A340-300, registration D-AIGN performing flight LH-423 from Boston,MA (USA) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was climbing out of Boston's runway 04R when the crew stopped the climb reporting they had high vibrations on one of their engines (CFM56) as result of a bird strike. 



The crew decided to return to Boston, dump fuel and landed safely back on Boston's runway 33L about 50 minutes after departure. The flight was cancelled.



The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 days before positioning back to Frankfurt. The aircraft is still on the ground in Frankfurt another day after landing in Frankfurt.
