Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry 'has to put Meghan Markle first' above his 'love' for Firm

Prince Harry has been slammed for prioritising Meghan Markle above his "love" for the Royal Family as a royal expert dives into recent events and the Duke’s reaction to them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties in January 2020 and moved across the pond to California. The announcement of their departure was made on their now-closed Sussex Royal Instagram page,

reportedly before reaching any agreements with the late Queen. Typically, senior royals refrain from making significant announcements without her approval, and royal expert Angela Levin pointed out that this underscores a disregard for established protocols. She told The Sun:

"The family had discussed that if they wanted to go, they could, and would have everyone's good wishes. They were asked to do it slowly and carefully but they didn't want to. They decided to do it their own way by putting up that post.

"Harry has been dragged down with that, Meghan has never had any respect for the family and the hierarchy and protocols. Harry said he tried to lay out the protocols and make it easy for her to understand but she didn’t care.

"They bent over backwards to be kind but Meghan wanted it all her way. They still pretend they know much better than the Royal Family do, and how to run it. They don’t want to have any connection to them.

Harry is lonely but pleasing Meghan comes first." The royal expert also pointed out how the Duke has not commented on the health issues of any of the members of the family. Kate, Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery last week while King Charles is all set to get treated for an enlarged prostate.

Merely days after the dual announcements, delivered within a span of 90 minutes, the Duke of Sussex took the stage in Beverly Hills. Accepting the Living Legend of Aviation award, he delivered a speech that carefully steered clear of any reference to his father and sister-in-law's health issues.

Ms Levin observed that this evident disregard for the challenges faced by two individuals close to him reflects the considerable distance Harry and Meghan have placed between themselves and the family. She said: "He didn’t say anything.

I felt that he was bound to say 'I’m so sorry to hear that both my father and sister-in-law are unwell'. He just needed to say one sentence. I think he’s between a rock and a hard place. He’s got to please his wife to an extreme. I think she’s very difficult.

"Deep down he still loves his family but she comes first and that’s ok. But I think she demands that he has no contact with the family."
