The last thing Kate needs at the hospital is pressure from her uncle, Gary

Kate Middleton’s outspoken uncle could 'embarrass' her on Celeb Big Brother and is ‘the last thing she needs’, experts warn

PRINCESS Kate's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, could "embarrass" the Royal Family if he joins the Celebrity Big Brother house, blasted experts.

The "black sheep" of the Middleton family risks causing the "vulnerable" Royal-mum-of-three even more stress as she recovers from her abdominal surgery.

It comes as insiders claimed the controversial businessman, brother of Kate's mum Carole, had negotiated a hefty contract with the ITV show’s bosses.

A source said: “Gary is champing at the bit to get on Celebrity Big Brother. “He finalised the terms of his deal today and can’t wait to enter the house.”

Gary

The 58-year-old angled for a spot on I’m A Celebrity last year but was turned away over fears it could embarrass Kate and William.

Gary previously scorned Harry and Meghan after the release of Spare and is known for his "outspoken" opinions on the pair.

Now, royal experts have slammed the decision to welcome him into the Celebrity Big Brother house - branding the move "embarrassing" a potentially "dangerous" to the Royals amid a difficult time.

Kate remains in recovery at The London Clinic after being admitted on January 16, as King Charles underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate on Friday.

Angela Levin told The Sun: "I think it's cringe-making, very embarrassing, the trouble is he doesn't like Harry and Meghan at all, some of this comments will fall onto Catherine and she's had a lot against her, she's not well, she's in hospital.

"I think when you come out of an operation you're quite vulnerable and this could upset her enormously.

"In principle people who don't like her could say she encouraged him to do it, but she would have done nothing of the kind.

"It's very embarrassing. "It's very hard being a Royal, and I don't know if this is a good idea.

"I don't think he's doing it for money, he's a multi-millionaire, maybe just to be heard, but that makes it worse."

"The trouble is with these programmes is they don't remember there are cameras running all the time, and he could say something inappropriate and it can be quite dangerous.

"It's not appropriate behaviour really." Meanwhile, Royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams agreed this news would be the "last thing" Kate needs to deal with.

He told The Sun: "With Kate in hospital it's the last thing she would want.

"I don't think the Middletons will be particularly delighted. "But, the Royal expert believed Gary would be a flop when it came to popularity on the show.

"I suspect he will be a big yawn. I think he will try really hard to make comments about the Sussexes, because I don't think most people know who he is and most people are that interested," he said.

Gary has a controversial history and first became embroiled in scandal in 2009 when caught cutting lines of cocaine for a sex worker at a wild party in Ibiza.

The business mogul then avoided prison again when found guilty of hitting his fourth wife Julie-Ann in a drunken row in 2017.

"He is the family black sheep," explained Mr Fitzwilliams. "I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a big yawn and made a few comments the Royal Family could undoubtedly do without about the Sussexes.

"He could embarrass the Middleton family, and one would worry he doesn't say too much because it wouldn't be helpful.

"The Royal Family do have other things to bother about at the moment but this news does no service to them."

A spokesman for Celebrity Big Brother said: “All names are purely speculation at this stage.”
