Delta B763 at Edinburgh on Feb 10th 2023, engine shut down in flight A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N197DN performing flight DL-209 from Edinburgh,SC (UK) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing out of Edinburgh's runway 24 when the crew stopped the climb at about 10,000 feet after the right hand engine (PW4060) emitted a series of bangs and streaks of flames.  The crew initially set course to return to Edinburgh, but then turned again and positioned for an approach to Glasgow Prestwick,SC (UK) where the aircraft landed safely on runway 30 about 30 minutes after departure. The aircraft taxied to the apron where the passengers disembarked normally. The aircraft remained in Prestwick until Feb 22nd 2023, then positioned to Atlanta,GA (USA) and remained on the ground in Atlanta before returning to service on Mar 3rd 2023. African Express MD82 at Malakal touched down short of the runway An African Express Airways McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration 5Y-AXL performing a flight from Juba to Malakal (South Sudan), touched down short of runway 04 and suffered the collapse of the main gear.  The aircraft came to a stop on the runway on nose gear and belly of fuselage and was disabled. The aircraft was evacuated. There are no reports of injuries. Malakal's Acting Governor reported the aircraft had been contracted by the national government to carry returnees from Sudan to South Sudan, the aircraft had been carrying 300 returnees per day in two daily flights in the last two weeks. The aircraft landed in a rough way in Malakal, but everyone is safe .
